I sailed on a ship from my island past your island, never knowing.
I flew through adolescence lonely without you, unfulfilled wishes.
I embarked on a journey hardly worth planning, overwhelming regrets.
Then searched for you unsuccessfully, hopes dashed, surrendered.
I climbed mountains, only to fall before ascending to the top.
And found you unavailable, sadness seeps from my broken heart.
I lived two lifetimes from there until now, time lost.
But I have faith that you will be with me before the end.
