Rain Man

Tears continue to fall like rain on a desert of despair.
The gray sheets of water block all hope.
Through the darkness of the storm,
Thunder masks the sound of an empty spirit.

The torrential torment passes with time,
Beyond it, silver lined clouds.
The brighter sky sharpens a faint golden image.
Its clarity reveals the glow of his beautiful face.

Under a rainbow this cherished friend appears at her open door.
Her breath catches in anticipation of a firm embrace,
And his sensuous kiss, indicating indisputable love
From her "Rain Man".
