At Sea Again…

Throughout or cruise, our cabin steward would leave cute little towel animals. By the end of the cruise, we had a zoo of 6…a dog, a swan, a turtle, an elephant, a monkey, and a peacock!

Today was our first attempt at bingo. A set of cards was rather expensive at $35 for five games that lasted about half an hour. We were unsuccessful at winning and decided the slot machines were treating us better.

Lesley and I don't get too excited about watching the typical revue show presented on many cruises. We went to the show this night. The theme was "Rhythm Nation." The cruise line was fortunate to have four very strong lead singers that made this show exciting to watch.

Crossing Boundaries…

There was another slot tournament today that Lesley and I bought one entry to share (big spenders that we are). She wanted me to play because in the first one her score was pretty low. We didn't even come close to winning this time.

Not everyone who sails crosses the International Date Line. Not everyone crosses the equator. It is even more rare to do both on one cruise. So Royal Caribbean held a ceremony (as hokey as it was) to celebrate this event when we crossed the equator on this day. All passengers received a certificate commemorating this event.

Celebrating…

Wednesday, March 12 was the third day at sea. Lesley and I pretty much didn't do anything too exciting. We attended the handwriting analysis class again. They draw 5 names for a free analysis and I won one. The lady didn't reveal anything I didn't already know.

I'm not sure if we did much more than rest and recuperate from prior shore tours. This might have been the windy day that we attempted to play putt putt. This was not much more successful than playing ping pong earlier. When the "green" is lumpy, the wind is blowing, and the boat is rocking, you don't stand a chance.

It was a dress up dinner night and we went for a good meal. John and Debbie didn't come because John doesn't like to dress up. Afterward, we went to the casino to lose some more quarters in the slot machines and I gave up about $10.00.

I went to check my e-mail and didn't win anything there either, but lost less money than the casino. Since it was a special day, I planned to e-mail birthday wishes to my cat via e-mail to Richard, but was sidetracked trying to rush and make room in my Hotmail account and forgot. The internet cafe on the ship costs fifty cents a minute!

B I N G O !…

Lesley and I played Chinese checkers and a few hands of gin. By now we must have rested quite a bit because Lesley has read four or five of her paperback mysteries. I recall a hardback book she read and didn't like then ending. She through it in the trash so on one else would have to suffer through.

Today was the final bingo game and the jackpot had climbed to over $8000. We went and shared a set of cards. The final game was cover the card. John, Debbie, and I were playing the cards while Lesley double checked ours. We got down to needing one number, B-11. They called four or five other numbers before getting a winner. It wasn't us. Bummer! At least we had a chance.

The story continues…Hawaii
